Orlando's High Endurance SC sets their own style.

By Frinj.com motorcycle reporter Tim Dati

High Endurance Scooter Club
I recently had the opportunity to catch up and visit with the members of Orlando's High Endurance Scooter Club at one of there many planned events. And being a big V-Twin motorcycle rider myself, I wasn't quite sure what to expect. Well shame on me for having any doubt as to where these riders should fit into the world of engines on two wheels. Ask anyone to describe who they think are the typical scooter riders and I'm quite sure that all the responses would tend to point in one general direction. This might be true in alot of cases, but this is definately "NOT!" the case with the High Endurance Scooter Club. After visiting and talking with many of their members, I'm convenced that if anything, these members are more knowledgeable and passionate about the cycles they ride than most "big bike" riders. This is evident the moment you strike up a casual conversation with any of their members.

High Endurance SC was founded by Chris McNew circa '98 in Orlando, Florida and is a group of people dedicated to the riding, restoration and customization of classic scooters. Originally named "2 Stroke Fury" They eventually changed their name to be more inclusive of something they almost all shared in common. High Endurance deodorant. It does hold a bit of a deeper meaning. Everyone knows it takes "high endurance" to own and ride scooters. Chris had only been in Florida a short time before starting High Endurance SC, but it didn't take long to find the scooter people. There was only a handful of us in the begining, hanging out, riding and the like.

Their rallies continue to grow and improve each year. President of HESC Chris McNew explains, "we have one of the biggest biker partys in the world right in our backyard at Daytona Beach. How cool is that. We hold our rally every year during this time. It is a freakin blast. Going out to the biker bars, and riding down Main Street is the best on a scooter". The club is about scooters and the scooter lifestyle. They look out for each other and ride.
